However, somehow Sarah Hogle managed to truly make me root for these characters who had both been spiteful and manipulative at times, which is quite a feat since normally I run a mile at stupid toxicity in romcom relationships. I really liked the fun, lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers premise, yet when I was about 30% into this book I truly thought both the main characters were going to be irredeemable and I didn’t see how the situation would convincingly turn around.
